This thread sprung up on the forums that focus a lot on Hyperion so I thought I'd share it in this thread:

I agree Cyndane. He gave everyone a pretty fair shake in his evaluations of each faction. What I would point out though is that we weren't the hapless mess that everyone tries to make of us. We had to move hundreds of people across the map and did so successfully. Sieges were an orchestration of hundreds of players that moved in concert to hit multiple cities at one time. We did really well when we had the organization and discipline in place. When officers and leadership weren't online, it was a mess.

I disagree with his premise about cities. Cities made it easier for larger groups to rally and function and right away they were easy to defend without people maxing out the levitate and launch spells. Add in those elements and yes, they were useless. It made more sense to not own a city and raid everyone else's for resources.

They said they were fixing that though, so who knows. We'll see how it shakes out.

Osium's post was well done. The first couple of months in DF were some of the most fun i've ever had in an mmo. I really hope that we will see similar games to DF in the future. But for now, i'm having more than enough fun in GW2.
